Common Causes
- Incorrect driver version for the operating system
- Antivirus or security software blocking the installer

What to Check First
- Temporarily disable antivirus real-time protection during driver installation — some security software incorrectly flags printer driver installers.
- Run the printer driver installer as Administrator (right-click → Run as administrator).
- If a previous version of the driver was installed, remove it completely before installing the new one — including removing it from the print server.
- Make sure the printer is powered on and connected during installation if using USB. For Wi-Fi installation, have your Wi-Fi password ready.
- Use the full driver package from the manufacturer website, not the basic driver or the installer from Windows Update.
